Organise products into categories

Create categories and sub-categories, choose browsing behaviour and arrange your catalogue.

Create or edit categories

Open Products → Catalogue → Categories. Create a category, or edit an existing one. Choose a parent category when you want to make a sub-category.

Assign products to the category in each product editor. Category names must be unique within your store. Sub-categories count towards the same category allowance as top-level categories.

Choose how customers browse

In Categories → Category settings, choose whether browsing a parent category includes products in its sub-categories. You can also choose whether category links appear in storefront navigation.

Turning off navigation links does not remove the categories or the category filters on your products page.

Arrange your catalogue

Choose Display order on the catalogue page. Drag category dividers to arrange categories, or drag products within a category. Choose Done arranging when finished. Ordering changes save automatically.

The search, filters and sorting used to browse your dashboard do not change the saved storefront order.

If a category will not delete

Move its products and sub-categories first, and remove it from any shipping, checkout-field or discount rules that use it. Then try again.
